I had a 2008 for escape xlt v6 4wd and it was fantastic. Now that i have seen the 2009 Ford Escape I am truly in love and I am going to buy one this year or maybe wait for the 2010 model to come out so I can see how ford improved this automobile. Good luck ford I dont think you can make it any better without going way up on the price.

First Impressions from 2008 BMW X5 4.8i. I actually had quite a few first impressions. �Oh my God, it�s gorgeous.� �Wow, I get to drive a BMW!�. �This is a really BIG vehicle!�, but nothing compares to actually driving one. The X5 4.8i has a snarling 350-horsepower V8 engine, yet it�s stylish, technologically advanced, sexy and has some really great features. Being loaded with creature comforts and luxury amenities, MKS also is about 600 pounds heavier than Taurus, weight you feel in the wheel when accelerating or taking corners and turns. MKS doesn't float like a boat or wander like a Town Car. Though larger than Taurus, it still slips into and out of parking spaces and garage stalls. But a bit more nimble steering would reduce the weighty feel in the wheel.

First of all, Mercedes has installed its Direct-Steer System on the SLK. The idea behind this system is that the steering ratio should be relatively slow on-center to reduce dartiness, but should quicken as you turn the wheel further. Rather than going the BMW Active Steering route, which uses a computer to control the constantly varying steering ratio, Mercedes chose the right route: the Porsche way. In place of complex actuators, pumps, and computers, the Mercedes system requires no additional parts - the rack is designed to change to a quicker ratio after a certain amount of lock.

Having driven the new Monster 696 for my first-ever motorcycle lesson, I, Howard Wilner can tell you that I thought it was cool, though I obviously have no point of reference for comparison with other bikes. I also can tell you that I barely tapped its performance capabilities (less than 3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph, and a top speed estimated at 135 mph). It was kind of like taking Drivers' Ed in a Ferrari.

Only 2009 Subaru Impreza Road RX versions of the Impreza have been made available for us to test. For better or worse, these sporty compacts have a softer, more mainstream feel to them than their edgy predecessors. Taking on the likes of the Ford Escape, Toyota Rav4 and Honda CR-V, the Tiguan is a gutsy little runabout with more style in its front bumper than most of the competition has through its rear tail lights.

For years, BMW has been refining the liquid hydrogen fueled sedans that it has placed in field trials on multiple continents, championing the use of hydrogen in conventional engines in lieu of the more popular fuel cell. I drowned in a sea of frustration and disappointment.That feeling came back to me sitting in the Nissan GT-R. There was so much potential - 480 horsepower available for the asking, 430 foot-pounds of torque and an all-wheel-drive system with rear-wheel-drive bias, the way all-wheel-drive should be in a premium sports car.

These midsize cars offer sedan and wagon body styles and come with all-wheel drive and horizontally opposed 4-cyl engines. Legacy is available in 2.5i and 2.5 GT trim. The 2.5i models have 175 hp. GTs are turbocharged and have 243 hp. Manual transmission is standard. Automatic is optional, except on the sport-themed GT spec.B sedan. Driving Impressions from 2008 BMW 335i Sedan.Though slotted between the base 328i and hot rod M3, the 335i has a special sport suspension and incredible twin-turbo six cylinder that is flat out fast; faster than the last generation M3. It�s something of a sleeper hot rod. When I got the keys, I was excited to drive the car but worried because it was bright, crimson red with 300 hp and a 6-speed manual transmission. Perfect color and combination for cop bait!

At a mock funeral for their electric cars, a group of EV drivers expressed their condolences. WILNER HOWARD 2009 rules =] The 2009 Maserati GranTurismo lineup expands to include a top-line S model. This four-passenger coupe shares much of its basic design with Maserati's Quattroporte sedan. The standard powertrain is a 405-hp 4.2-liter V8 and 6-speed automatic transmission with steering-column-mounted shift paddles. New for 2009 is an S model with a 440-hp 4.7-liter V8 shared with the Alfa Romeo 8C. Unlike most front-engine cars, the GranTurismo has a rear weight bias, which Maserati says improves handling. Standard safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, and front curtain airbags. Standard on all models are dual-zone climate control, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, and a rear obstacle detection system. MiTo buyers can customize their cars endlessly, choosing among ten shades of paint, fourteen finishes for the headlight and taillight surrounds (shiny or satin chrome, opaque black and titanium gray, plus the ten body shades), and five styles of sixteen-inch to eighteen-inch wheels. Two versions of red paint are available: the traditional nonmetallic Alfa Red and a lighter Giulietta red, yet another reminder of Alfa Romeo's past.
